The sighting of the two started tabloid rumors that Rodgers began seeing Rohrbach before his breakup with Munn, but a source close to the 33-year-old quarterback tells PEOPLE those reports are overblown.
“This needs to be clarified,” says the source. “Aaron and Kelly are just friends, and they went to play golf together. There’s absolutely nothing weird or scandalous there, and it’s ridiculous that [the tabloids] are making it into something.”
The source also says that Rodgers has grown accustomed to seeing reports about his private life in the media after his dad spoke publicly about a family rift. Younger brother Jordan Rodgers, who competed on JoJo Fletcher‘s season of The Bachelorette, also spoke candidly about the estrangement with Aaron.

But regardless of what onlookers say about his life, Rodgers plans to continue to have fun.
“Aaron is a young, handsome, single guy,” the source tells PEOPLE. “You’re going to see him out and about with friends, and you’re going to see him with girls. That’s just going to happen. He’s having a good time hanging out with people who he likes. He’s just having fun, and he deserves it.”
So does it bother Rodgers that he’s being linked to other women?
“Aaron saw the reports about Kelly and thought they were funny,” says the insider. “He was like, ‘I guess every time I even look at a girl, people are going to say we’re getting married.’ But no, it doesn’t bother him. He knows it comes with the territory.”
