“If I could turn back time, I still wouldn’t change anything,” the mom of two, 57, recently told the new issue of the Swedish journal Svenskdam while visiting Sweden as patron of the Perfect World Foundation.
As for her amicable relationship with ex-husband Prince Andrew, 57 — from whom she was divorced in 1996, followed by multiple headline-making scandals — she told the outlet, “We’re good friends and communicate very well — a prerequisite for the children to feel good.”
The Duchess, who was divorced from Prince Andrew in May 1996, said of daughters Princess Beatrice, 29, and Princess Eugenie, 27, “I am very proud of my beautiful girls and we have a good relationship. They’re evidence of good parenting, I’d say.
“Being a good mother is listening to your own heart, standing firm in what you believe in and providing security,” she said.
The Duchess was in Gothenburg to attend the Ocean Ball 2017, a gala dinner organized by the Perfect World Foundation, an environmental group currently campaigning to reduce toxic seaborne chemicals and plastic.
“I think there is hope for the environment, if we all fight for it together and create awareness,” she said.
