An NBA player she’s not, but Kate is already demonstrating that she’s one tough mama who’s not afraid to try something new.

The expectant Duchess of Cambridge – who confirmed Thursday that she’s due with the royal baby “in mid-July” – didn’t exactly look like a natural on the court during a visit to Glasgow, Scotland, but she deserves big points for not giving up until she finally made a basket.

Dressed in high-heeled suede boots and a tartan coat (a nod to Scotland, where she is known as Countess of Strathearn), Kate looked healthy and relaxed as she and Prince William played ping-pong and chatted with locals at the new Emirates Arena, as well as a local homeless shelter.

Kate seemed like a relatable mum-to-be when she revealed she hasn’t finished the nursery, is having a tough time choosing a baby name and has taken up knitting, although she admitted, “I’m really bad.”

We’re guessing polishing up on her basketball skills is understandably not high on her agenda. How many baskets did it take Kate to score? Watch the video to find out!
