Vegas Vacation

Posted on

Las Vegas star Josh Duhamel may have been named one of PEOPLE’s Most Beautiful this year, but he’s still humble. While his show is on hiatus this summer, Duhamel plans to visit his dad in Minnesota, his mom in North Dakota and friends in New York before escaping to Mexico for a vacation. Duhamel tells us he returns twice a year to the Midwest, where he likes to visit “hole-in-the-wall” bars – and not because he expects to be lauded by the locals. “They’re interested for about five minutes, and then its time to drink beer,” he says.

Flexible spending
Ever wanted a private yoga session with Gwyneth Paltrow? Now you can have one. Well, kind of. Customers of the new upscale credit card Stratus Rewards can use 200,000 rewards points to bid on the session during an online auction in the fall (pregnant Paltrow is due in June, so no doubt she’ll be back in form in plenty of time to do yoga with the winner). Paltrow became involved in this venture through a friendship with a company executive, says Stratus rep Tove Sharp. Don’t ready your yoga mat just yet: The card’s annual fee is $1,500.

Life After Reality
Failed Apprentice Nick Warnock tells us he’s still cashing in on the show. Aside from taking a job selling luxury suites at the Oakland Coliseum, he’s commanding $10,000 for speaking engagements at Hershey’s, Dow Jones and other companies. “I’m sure in six months it’ll go down to $1,500,” he says, “but what can you do.”

Fast Takes
Sharon Stone and Queer Eye’s Fab 5 were honored by the American Apparel and Footwear Association at the American Image Awards in Manhattan recently, benefiting the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Stone, who received the “Spirit of a Woman” award, said, “I am so damn proud that that’s what my life stands for.” … Love Don’t Cost a Thing star Nick Cannon will open 35 dates on Jessica Simpson’s upcoming summer concert tour, performing songs from his self-titled debut CD. … Iggy Pop and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs will headline the exclusive “Underworld” party presented by Playstation 2 on May 11. Admittance to the event – which is being held at a secret location in downtown Los Angeles – is by invitation only. … We hear that Survivor: All Stars host Jeff Probst planned to open the show’s live finale by rappelling down from the roof of New York’s Madison Square Garden, but the venue wouldn’t agree to the show’s confidentiality agreement, so the stunt was scrapped.
