While promoting National Treasure in New York City, Nicolas Cage dropped by his older brother Marc Coppola’s Q104.3 and Sirius satellite radio shows with new wife Alice Kim in tow. The happy-sounding and chattier-than-usual actor revealed that, as a kid, he used to bury his own “treasure” – whatever money he had – in the backyard, and he teased Marc for trying to trick him into telling him where it was. During the interview, Marc also pointed out a little-known fact about Cage and his wife: Nicolas’s middle name is Kim, so the couple now share both middle and last names, Nicolas Kim Cage and Alice Kim Cage. Does that mean the “Kim Cages” are a match made in heaven? Compared to Cage’s last two marriages (to Patricia Arquette and Lisa Marie Presley), “It seems to be working out,” says Marc, adding that Alice is currently with Nicolas on his European press tour for the film. “She’s there by his side. She’s always with him, no matter where he is.”
Before Sunset: The Epilogue?
The onscreen chemistry between Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy in Before Sunrise and its wildly romantic sequel, Before Sunset, was undeniable. So, is there anything going on between the two offscreen, now that he has split from Uma Thurman? The two were certainly touchy-feely at this week’s IFP Gotham Awards in New York City, where Before Sunset was nominated as best feature film (Sideways took the prize). The costars, who also cowrote the follow-up film along with director Richard Linklater, cuddled, linked arms, whispered and laughed with each other throughout the evening. Delpy briefly approached Mark Wahlberg to congratulate him on the nomination for his film I Heart Huckabees, but then flitted off to find Hawke again. Her rep says the two are “just friends,” and his didn’t return calls. Stay tuned …
Home for the Holidays
Justin Timberlake took Cameron Diaz home to Memphis for Thanksgiving last week, where the two inconspicuously watched the Memphis Grizzlies lose to the Dallas Mavericks from a luxury box at the FedEx Forum (until the JumboTron camera caught them, that is). After the game Timberlake and Diaz headed to B.B. King’s Blues Club on Beale Street (Timberlake is part-owner), but they just missed Lenny Kravitz, says club manager J.B. Wells.
We hear that plans are under way to throw Aaron Carter a giant 17th birthday party on Dec. 7, the night before the Billboard Awards, at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. The whole Carter family – minus his mom, with whom he’s had a publicly troubled relationship over the past few months – is expected to fly in for the festivities, and we hear that record impresario Lou Perlman is buying the teen pop star a Dodge Viper truck.
