Ah, the suffering some actresses have to endure. On Mandy Moore‘s first day filming the futuristic thriller Southland Tales, one of the initial scenes she shot was a romantic moment with her costar The Rock (a.k.a. Dwayne Johnson), who plays her husband in the movie. “I had to kiss him on the first day of work,” she says. “It was okay to ease myself in by making out with someone on the first day. He’s very handsome and he’s the nicest guy.”
As for her real-life love match with Scrubs star Zach Braff, Moore says she wouldn’t mind teaming up with her beau on the small screen. “I would love to do something on Scrubs,” she told us at a recent charity luncheon at West Hollywood eatery Morton’s sponsored by the NRDC Action Forum (Natural Resources Defense Council) and Ralph Lauren Fragrances. “I think it would be fun – I’m talking about it right now.” Stay tuned …
Almost a year after giving birth to son Milo (her baby with rocker husband Royston Langdon turns 1 on Dec. 14), Liv Tyler has bounced back to her pre-pregnancy shape. She’s “doing really well and looking sexy and curvy in all the right places,” says the actress’s trainer, David Kirsch. But it hasn’t been easy. “We are training hard,” he says.
In addition to working out, Tyler – who’ll star opposite Casey Affleck in the Steve Buscemi-directed drama Lonesome Jim, due out in March – she’s also changed her diet. What’s on her menu? “Lots of greens, sushi and clean protein,” says Kirsch. And Tyler has a secret protein weapon: a meal-replacement juice made from organic ground flaxseed, fiber and vitamins, which Kirsch developed.

• Ashlee Simpson, hanging out with pals at the Hollywood bar The Cat and Fiddle. The singer – who wore a gray sleeveless top and dark pants – cuddled with and sat on a male companion’s lap. She finally left at last call, at around 1:45 a.m.
• Sean "Diddy" Combs, partying in the VIP balcony at the Washington, D.C., club Love. The hip-hop mogul peered down from his perch and waved to partygoers. The following day, Diddy – in town for homecoming festivities at his alma mater, Howard University – hosted a block party outside the H20 restaurant and lounge. Despite the stubborn rain, he made merry until the wee hours of the morning.
