Leave it to Madonna to throw an exclusive party that – as one organizer tells us – put Diddy to shame. “It was so unbelievable,” our source says.
Cristal champagne, eats from Nobu and 150 of her closest friends – including Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney – all came together for a celebration at trendy London nightclub Kabaret’s Prophecy, following her gig at club Koko, a venue she first played 22 years ago. The total bill for the affair: $120,000.
And what would a party thrown by the Confessions on a Dancefloor songstress be without some serious moves? “They were dancing in this big circle with her dancers break-dancing in the middle,” says the event’s organizer. “Everyone took turns to jump in and dance with them. Everyone was cheering and clapping.” The wildest dancer of all? “Definitely Madonna.”
Meanwhile, husband Guy Ritchie “sat at the bar happily drinking his beer with his pals, watching his missus,” says the source. “Every now and then she would go and give him a cuddle.”
Madge finally left (“with a smile on her face”) at 2 a.m, but the party raged on until after 4. “It was really something to remember.”
Caught in the Act
• George Clooney, playfully bickering over the dinner bill with pal Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford‘s husband) at Ago, the West Hollywood restaurant co-owned by Robert De Niro. Clooney got his way and paid for the tab – which included lagostini (large, broiled shrimp) and truffles (the delicacies went for $80 a plate). The actor-director also chatted with two teenagers who approached his table. “He was really nice,” one of the smitten girls tells us.
• Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro, hanging out at a launch party for designer Leslie Gardner’s new clothing line, Smashing Grandpa, at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood. At one point, Navarro joked to his wife, who wore a low-cut purple dress, “Stand up there on the couch, babe! They can see you better if you get up there,” referring to the throng of paparazzi trying to photograph her.
