Kirsten and Jake: On Again?

Posted on

Exes Kirsten Dunst and Jake Gyllenhaal enjoyed a night out recently with friends at L.A. hotspot Fenix at the Argyle Hotel. Dunst (in a sexy, low-cut aqua dress) and Gyllenhaal danced and joked and generally had fun together – so is there a reconciliation going on for the pair, who split over the summer after two years together? “They’re friends,” says a Dunst rep. “You see them together all the time. They’re very, very close. They are friends.” Stay tuned …

Deep Thoughts
We grabbed Jimmy Fallon at the recent New York City premiere of his comedy Taxi to ask a few burning questions.
Do you have a secret celebrity crush?
“I’d like to keep that a secret.”
Any trend that passed you by?
“Fanny packs? Was that a trend at one point?”
What was it like working with Queen Latifah?
“She’s the most generous person. I just lucked out. I was intimidated at first, I didn’t know if she’d be cool with me, but she gets comedy. Latifah is so much fun, and when you’re in a car with someone for four months, just shooting, you get the giggles and you get delirious. We had the best time. We really did.”
Was it sad to watch the new season of Saturday Night Live and not be there?
“I was upset. I wanted to give Tina (Fey) a hug. She’s my favorite, I miss her. But I think they did a great job (on “Weekend Update”) and Amy Poehler is so cool. There’s some good chemistry there, I think it’s gonna work.”

Dressing Downer
In researching her part as a mother whose teenage son dies in a car accident in Raise Your Voice, Rita Wilson realized she wouldn’t need much time in the hair and makeup trailer. “All (the grieving mothers) said, ‘I didn’t care about what I looked like or what I wore for about 18 months,’ ” says Wilson, who plays Hilary Duff’s mom in the drama. “So I told the director, ‘I want to look like I’m wearing clothes that were the first thing I reached for. I don’t want to wear makeup or worry about what my hair looks like.’ Then I see the movie and I’m like, ‘Damn, I look bad!’ The next part’s got to be a glam one, I think.”

Caught in the Act
Spotted Recently:
Josh Hartnett, with two female friends, making a late-night stop at New York’s Whiskey Ward bar.

P. Diddy, wearing a T-shirt with a glittered image of late rapper Biggie Smalls, at New York nightspot NA, chatting with DJ Q-Tip. Diddy next headed over to Crobar, where he surprised the crowd by joining the club’s DJ Deep Dish at the microphone to perform a quick rap.

Diane Keaton, Gloria Steinem, Annabeth Gish, Sharon Lawrence, Kathy Najimy and former Texas governor Ann Richards, at L.A. eatery Astra for an event honoring Diane English (the creator of Murphy Brown) for her work with Planned Parenthood. The following night, Ellen DeGeneres, Steve Martin, Helen Hunt, Martin Short and Alicia Silverstone went to Keaton’s newly renovated home for an event for the L.A. Conservancy.
