Actor Hugh Dancy stars in the new season of NBC’s Hannibal, returning June 4 but the 39-year-old actor admits he too was mesmerized by the charm of George Clooney. He reveals that apologizing is just part of life when you’re married and he’s perfected singing nursery rhymes, when he chatted with PEOPLE this week about “one last thing”
Last time I went black tie
I went to the Met Gala, which is such a fashiony event that if you have any appetite for black-tie stuff, it deals with that for the whole year.
Last time I was starstruck
That would be also at the Met Gala, with George Clooney. What was striking was that he’s so personable that you don’t really feel starstruck, and then afterward you’re like, “Oh, I guess I should have felt odder about that!”
Last time I said ‘I’m sorry’
I do it all the time! It would have to [be to] my wife [Claire Danes]. Who else do you apologize to [more] than the person you share your life with?
Last song I sang out loud
Probably “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” It was to my son [Cyrus, 2 1/2]. I think he likes it. I’ve taken his silence to be approving, but maybe he’s just waiting to tell me how he feels when he can speak.
