What’s it like the second time around between Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck in the upcoming Jersey Girl? “Something happens when we’re acting together, and we don’t know each other that well,” Tyler, who also played Affleck’s romantic interest in 1998’s Armageddon, tells Daily Insider. “He’s not all just about himself and sort of selfish. He’s always thinking about the movie as a whole and everyone in the scene. He’s very helpful and gracious, which is really impressive for someone who’s such a big star because he doesn’t have to be that way.” Jersey Girl opens March 26.

Friends don’t let friends sing karaoke drunk, according to Christian Slater. “I have done it sober and I have done it with a few cocktails,” admits the True Romance star. “With the cocktails, I was told to get off the stage. Sober, I actually got a few applause. So sober is the way to go … if you don’t want to make a fool of yourself.” Illustrating the point, Slater brought down the house recently with his rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “Come Fly with Me” at a celebrity karaoke benefit in Hollywood that raised more than $55,000 for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

If you just can’t get enough details about what was in the secret collection of Michael Jackson memorabilia that came to light recently when New Jersey contractor Henry Vaccaro (a former business partner of Jackson’s parents) sold it to a foreign investor, you’re in luck. Here are a few of the items PEOPLE examined during an exclusive peek:

• A trunk containing personal items and costumes, including Jackson’s famous red-and-gold bandleader jacket and a bulletproof vest.

• An annotated sketch of the profile of a head with the brain exposed, signed by Jackson. Some of the notes on the sketch include: “greatest actor, singer, dancer of all time” and “study the greats of your field and become greater.”

• A telegram sent from Marlon Brando in Los Angeles to Jackson in Kansas City on July 6, 1984, the first night of the Jacksons’ Victory tour. It reads: “Dear Michael, Thinking about you this evening. Please try not to make an ass of yourself and please for God’s sake don’t fall in the orchestra pit. Marlon.”

• A handwritten note from Jackson to nephew Taj inside a portfolio that contained Three Stooges memorabilia. The note, next to a book about the Three Stooges, reads: “Taj, This book is valuable, I was only 3 years old when it came out. Cherish it always. Love, Uncle Doo Doo M.J.”
