IN THE ZONE
The stress of being on tour can be, well, toxic, we imagine, so it’s no wonder Britney Spears stopped into the Estee Lauder Spa at Holt Renfrew for some pampering before her recent Toronto concert. “Her visit was unusual compared to other celebrities because she came in during spa hours,” spa coordinator Clarissa Hofer tells Daily Insider. “We didn’t have to shut down to our regular clients.” Britney, who was with a few friends, had a facial and seaweed body-wrap, and was “undemanding and very sweet,” according to an Estee Lauder rep.
HOT HOT HOT
If you’re wondering what the hottest club of the moment in New York is: Eva Mendes, Heather Graham, Jason Biggs, Jordana Brewster, Rocco DiSpirito, model Carmen Kass and Sopranos star Aida Turturro were all at Marquee … on Friday. Not a bad turnout for one night.
Just how much does Demi Moore like her energy drink of choice? “She drinks Red Bull like it’s water, and you can quote me on that,” says Kory Bassett, a friend of Ashton Kutcher’s who was on the first season of Punk’d. And so we did. … Ashanti was touched by the experience of winning a Brick Award from Do Something (an organization that encourages young people to serve their communities) for her previous work with domestic violence victims. “This is one of the coolest awards I’ve ever received,” said the 2002 Grammy winner. “This is one of those ceremonies that really, really matters.” … While filming Ella Enchanted in Ireland, Hugh Dancy tried to get into the culture – as he saw it. “We hit the Irish pubs,” he tells us. “I tried a bit of Irish dancing. I won’t be doing that again.” … Kelly Osbourne, who recently entered drug rehab, is on the road to recovery, says her sister. “I’m sure she’ll be fine,” Amy Osbourne tells us. … Elizabeth Berkley got a special delivery recently: A T-shirt sent by her mom that says, “Broadway Bound,” which Berkley has had since childhood. “My mom sent it to me to remind me that yes, certain dreams can come true,” says the actress, currently starring in the Broadway play Sly Fox.
GO ASK ALICE
Yes, that’s Ann B. Davis – Alice from The Brady Bunch – you’ve been seeing in the Swiffer TV commercials, bouncing on a diving board and careening gracefully into a pool. We spotted her enjoying pasta and tiramisu for lunch with her longtime agent and two Swiffer reps at Stella Osteria in New York City recently, and got the lowdown on her. In case you were wondering, Davis had a stunt double for the dive – a man, much to her amusement, in an appropriately stuffed woman’s bathing suit. At 77, she says she’s not seeking work, “but they keep seeking me!” As for her personal life, Davis tells us that she never married because of her active career: “By the time I got serious about it, all the good ones were taken.” And all this time we thought she had shacked up with Sam the butcher.
