Don’t cry for Anthony Fedorov, the bespectacled 20-year-old crooner who was bounced out of the final four on American Idol on Wednesday night. The baby-faced singer, hailed by fans as the second coming of Clay Aiken – but constantly derided by judge Simon Cowell for his mom-pleasing style – says he’s ready for a solo career. “I feel like a little baby that’s just been born,” he told us. So, will he look to follow in Aiken’s platinum career path? “I’m just going to do the things I love the most,” he says, and that may include a mix of “beautiful ballads,” “Latin music,” and “some European thing or some Bryan Adams-Richard Marx thing Michael Bolton, something like that. See where that takes me.” So happy is Fedorov that he doesn’t even harbor hard feelings toward Cowell. “I have tough skin … and I’m thankful for it,” he says.
By all accounts, the romance between Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell is chugging along nicely. Eight months after they began dating, the couple recently flew into New York City for a romantic getaway. Among their stops, they attended a Spring Fling party at The Garden, the outdoor club space at Ono (behind the Hotel Gansevoort), where they cuddled up on a couch drinking red wine in a private cabana until well after midnight. “They seemed really in love,” says one well-wisher who stopped by their table. “They are so laid back.”
The couple, who spent Mother’s Day with O’Connell’s parents at Italian eatery Le Zie in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, “seem so real,” says a friend. “They are having the best time with each other.”
