Hillary Clinton may not be living in the public eye since her defeat in the election earlier this month, but on Thursday her town sent her a special message on Thanksgiving.

The former Secretary of State took to Twitter on Thursday to thank those who were kind enough to leave a message on the corner of her street.

“I was greeted by this heartwarming display on the corner of my street today,” she wrote. “Thank you to all of you who did this. Happy Thanksgiving. -H.”

Clinton was spotted doing some last minute Thanksgiving shopping with her husband and daughter on Wednesday. A fellow shopper noticed and managed to get a selfie with the former presidential candidate.

“When you go pick up your pie and the entire Clinton family is shopping 2 #shopsmallbusiness #looksgreat #happythanksgiving @HillaryClinton,” Linda Bosco wrote on Twitter.

Clinton was accompanied by Bill and Chelsea Clinton, who also brought along their grandson, Aiden, to the Chappaqua Village Market according to NBC News 4 New York, a local TV station.

Brittany Valente, a local shopper who also took a picture with Clinton, told NBC that the entire family was “relaxed and shopping for Thanksgiving dinner at the local village market.”

“They were so nice, talking to everyone, wishing them happy holidays,” Valente said. “At one point, Hillary said, ‘We must stay strong together no matter what. Thank you for your support.'”
