Cats is back on Broadway, and now puppies are taking to the ice!
The New York Islanders welcomed a group of adorable adoptable puppies to their practice space for a photo shoot that was both strong and sweet.
All of the pups packed on to a bus from their temporary home at North Shore Animal League to visit the boys in blue and orange.
Instead of practicing, the players spent the day posing with the pups for a good cause. The photos from the day of “hard work” will be turned into a calendar that will be sold to benefit North Shore Animal League, the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization.
One of the skaters, defenseman Calvin de Haan, became so smitten with his modeling partner, he decided to adopt the cutie. Unable to stand 24 hours without the pup, de Haan and his girlfriend visited the shelter and adopted the canine just a few hours after the shoot was over.
Now that’s puppy love!
