For years, we have been told it is cats we need to worry about when it comes to taking over the world and turning technology against us. But (and hear me out here) maybe it’s dogs we should really be keeping our eyes on.

To prove my point, take a look at Shasta. Sick of being tormented by the relentless whirring of an automated vacuum, Shasta has learned to turn off her household’s Roomba.

This is not a parlor trick; Shasta wants that noisy thing shut down and off her floors. Her mom doesn’t seem to be getting the point, though, chiding Shasta that “mommy needs to vacuum.”

To this, the dog just stares back, seeming to respond with her eyes, “Don’t be cute, Mommy isn’t doing any vacuuming. This ‘thing’ is.”

While we are far from a total canine takeover, it all has to start somewhere. Just saying.
