In March 2012, rescue dog Tiny Beyonce entered the world weighing just 1 oz. and measuring less than 4 in. long, quickly earning the title of world’s smallest dog. Even at 2 weeks old, when the photo at left was snapped, she weighed just one-quarter of a pound. A year later, she’s up to nearly 3 lbs. and is doing just fine, despite her rocky beginnings.

One of five puppies born to a rescue named Casey, Beyonce – who was barely the size of a Dr. Pepper – is now looked after by The Grace Foundation of Northern California and its executive director, Beth DeCaprio.

She’s the apple of our eye! Beyonce’s incredible story of survival has led the pair on a mission with their S.N.A.P. to it, America! campaign, which advocates for the spaying, neutering, adopting and protecting of rescue pets.

Is that her agent calling? While Beyonce’s enjoying fame, DeCaprio says the biggest payoff from her stardom has been the more than 200 rescue dogs she’s helped save through her advocacy work.
