What are 3,118 people doing right this very second? Watching five Shiba Inu puppies, colored red and cream, get fed by their mother, Kika. Or staring at five fuzzy puppies sleep, practically motionless. That’s right, the puppy cam is back, with five new, equally adorable puppies to destroy your productivity (but strangely make you very relaxed).
On Jan. 16th, the San Francisco-based Shiba Inu gave birth to a second litter of two female and three male puppies, and their lives were up on Ustream almost immediately. According to Ustream founder and CTO Gyula Feher, the mother of all puppy cams logged 500,000 viewers in the first three days of its airing. Feher calls it “one of the most watched and shared videos of all time.”
The puppies’ caretakers, who have maintained anonymity, don’t have names for the five newest additions. So far, they’re just the B Team (Kika’s first litter of six puppies were all A names: Autumn, Ayumi, Amaya, Aki, Akoni and Ando). They’re only a few days old, so it’s just been a lot of sleeping and nuzzling and more sleeping for the B Team.
“These puppies immediately melt away the daily stress of life/work, any personal issues and other world issues,” Feher wrote in an email to PEOPLEPets.com. “We’ve received many stories of how the puppy cam has been helpful in the emotional recovery and healing process for many individuals dealing with health issues or life-changing events.”
At least one commenter confirmed. “What a nice way to end a busy, crazy day at work,” wrote addmath. “I come home take a hot bath then watch these sweet little babies sleep.”
