The original plan was for Surf Dog Ricochet to be a service dog on land. But after having some trouble with training, the loving canine made her own destiny, hopping on a surfboard to help those in need.
Now, the certified therapy dog is the world's only "surf"-ice dog, dedicating her time to getting on board with special needs and disabled children, wounded warriors and veterans with PTSD.

Her calming, supportive presence and impressive surf skills have helped countless dog lovers find the confidence they need to embrace who they are and follow their dreams.

She does a lot of her amazing work through her Waves of Empowerment program, which pairs veteran and disabled adults with special needs kids. Together, these pairs participate in paws-on healing with Ricochet as she encourages them to surf, paddleboard, play and feel empowered.

For her amazing work on and off the waves, Ricochet won an American Humane Association Hero Dog Award. A well-deserved honor for a canine who not only participates in charitable work, but has also started and raised money for multiple funds that help other hero dogs in training.
