He may be 17-years-old, but Sarah Silverman’s elderly pooch, Duck, is still bounding with energy – but only for one hour each day.

“He needs at least 23 hours of sleep a day, or else he’s not himself,” the comedian told PEOPLE at the GQ Men of the Year Party in Los Angeles last month. “But then in that one hour [that he’s awake], he’s so peppy it’s crazy. We take walks, watch TV, we cuddle.”

The pair also spend a good amount of time sharing photos and funny videos on the star’s WhoSay page, including one where the star begs her senior pooch not to die.

He might be an octogenarian in human years, but it seems Duck still has some good years left. “He’s doing so well,” she says.
