Happy National Pig Day!

Take a moment on March 1 to hug a swine close to you and tell them how much you care. One of the pigs we are celebrating today is Pickles.

This black-and-pick cutie is more than just a pretty face, he is also a surfer, agility course superstar and pawesome best friend to his French bulldog brother Dill.

Now, he is adding a new credit to his name: author. Pickles exclusively announced to PEOPLE on National Pig Day that he is releasing his first book this year.

How Tickles Saved Picklespublished by Margaret K. McElderry Books, will hit shelves on Oct. 16, but we have a sneak peek at the cover and the story behind this precious picture book.

Written by Pickles’ person, Maddie Johnson, How Tickles Saved Pickles tells the story of how our swine star from San Francisco hit health troubles early in his life. Luckily, there was a large sow named Tickles, who lived on a far away farm that was willing to help Pickles and save the day.
