Tennessee Titans cornerback Logan Ryan occasionally takes a vacation from the National Football League, but he never takes a break from rescuing dogs, not even on his wedding day.
During their recent destination wedding in St. Lucia, Ryan and his wife Ashley Bragg visited the town of Soufrière for photos. While in the town, the couple was greeted by one of the area’s many friendly stray dogs, reports Brides.com. But this wasn’t a quick “hello.” The canine followed the pair around for over 20 minutes, and it even ended up in a few photos.
While taking some wedding photos in the St.Lucian town of Soufriere we ran into this stray dog and many others like her. This one in particular followed us thru the streets for 20 plus minutes. When we flew back to the states we were determined to help any way possible. We donated & We encouraged all friends and family that instead giving us wedding gifts to make donations to @helpaws, a St.Lucian based dog rescue. Just got word back that based on our picture they found this particular mama dog, named her Logan, and the donation paid for her Spay!!#MadeOurDay#DogRescue
Bragg and Ryan, who were missing their own dogs back at home, fell in love with the stray and decide they needed to do something.
“While taking some wedding photos in the St. Lucian town of Soufrière we ran into this stray dog and many others like her. This one in particular followed us thru the streets for 20 plus minutes,” Ryan wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of the dog. “When we flew back to the states we were determined to help any way possible. We donated & We encouraged all friends and family that instead [of] giving us wedding gifts to make donations to @helpaws, a St.Lucian based dog rescue.”

By giving up material wedding gifts and asking for donations to Helpaws, the St. Lucia based animal rescue, the couple turned their nuptials into a life-saving moment for countless animals, including their friend from the photo shoot.
“Just got word back that based on our picture they found this particular mama dog, named her Logan, and the donation paid for her spay!” Ryan also shared on Instagram.
This one's for my New England folks! This is Bubba. He is a resident of Cranston Animal Shelter, but currently admitted to Ocean State Veterinary Specialists for medical care. Bubba has an autoimmune disease that causes his body to attack his skin, but thru it all he remains brave and affectionate. He will soon be released from the hospital and really needs to go to a HOME. @handsomedansrescue Rescue will even pay for his treatment! If you are local and able to help Bubba through this and give him the life he deserves, contact Nicole at Cranston Animal Shelter- (401) 464-8700 or email volunteer Connie at firstname.lastname@example.org. #RyansMonthlyRescue
This is far from Ryan and Bragg’s first act of animal kindness. The couple started Ryan’s Monthly Rescue together. This is a social media campaign that brings attention to needy shelter dogs across the country, specifically pit bulls. Ryan’s Monthly Rescue helps these highlighted dogs find loving forever families and also helps to combat the harmful, negative stereotypes that unfairly surround pit bull dogs.
