Since splitting last year from his ex-wife and Dexter costar Jennifer Carpenter, Michael C. Hall has been able to make time for a few other loved ones.
“I spend a lot of time with my cats,” the actor, 40, tells PEOPLE of the pets he adopted with Carpenter in 2009. “They’re both boys, they’re both very affectionate. Their names are Preacher and Ford. They’re my four-legged friends.”
Typically opting for evenings at home with his cats over nights out on the town, Hall, who successfully beat cancer in 2010, says that overall, “Things are great. I’m loving life.”
When he’s not spending time at home with his two “very good friends,” Hall stays busy with work.
“Summer is a lot of early-morning and late-night freeway rides to and from Long Beach [Calif.],” he says. “We shoot down there a lot. Right now I’m in a Dexter well.”
