Authorities are searching for a medical student from Chennai, India, who was filmed throwing a dog off a terrace. 

According to Mashable, the shocking, slow-motion video appeared across social media over the past few days, and shows the man grabbing a terrified dog by the neck and hurling the innocent animal off a balcony.

Thanks to the work of local police and animal rights activists, the student behind this horrifying act has been identified. His name is Gautam S and he is a student at Tamil Nadu’s Madha Medical College.

Animal lovers are now trying to find Gautam S so he can be charged for animal cruelty, Humane Society International is even offering a $1,500 reward for information about the offender’s whereabouts. 

Originally, the dog in the video (which you can watch here) was reported to be dead, but an animal activist is now claiming is injure but alive. 

Activists Shravan Krishnan and Karthik Dhandapani both posted photos of the dog that allegedly appears in the video. Krishnan said the dog is unable to walk due to injuries from the fall, but that the animal is receiving medical attention. 

“What breaks my heart is that she was still wagging her tail,” Krishnan wrote on Facebook about finding the dog.
