Jane Lynch has left the classrooms of Glee and is now out in the wild.

The Best in Show actress is hosting National Geographic’s ambitious EARTH LIVE event with the Amazing Race’s Phil Keoghan.

The two-hour special, which airs live on July 9, will use over 50 state-of-the-art cameras situated in 15 countries on six continents to show animal lovers what is happening out in the wild right at that very moment.

“They have been working on it for several years. They set up these Canon cameras that actually photograph the dead of night as if it were the middle of the day,” Lynch told PEOPLE Now on how the massive scope of this special is possible.

The special event will offer viewers an intimate look at remote places of the world that few humans have visited and that many animals call home.

Tune in to National Geographic Channel on July 9th at 8 p.m. ET to watch EARTH LIVE, and see the wonders of the animal kingdom as they happen.
