Hang ten suddenly has a whole new meaning!
More than a dozen dogs piled onto one surfboard at the 7th Annual Loews Dog Surfing Competition on Saturday and broke a Guinness World Record for most dogs on a board at one time with a human.
And they weren’t the only ones crying cowabunga – more than 50 competitive canines and thousands of spectators flocked to the Imperial Beach, Calif., event to show off their moves, including charitable surfing dog Ricochet, a golden retriever, who won in the large dog category.
Dogs were judged on confidence level, length of ride and overall ability to grip and rip it – all in the name of charity. Profits from the event went to the ASPCA.
