This fall, two of country music’s biggest – or at least cutest – stars will embark on a cross-country tour together. Billy Currington’s 4-year-old chocolate Lab, Paco, and Carrie Underwood’s rat terrier, Ace, will join their famous owners on Underwood’s Play On tour.

“[We’re] going to be a great family out there [on the road],” Currington – whose latest single, “Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer,” just reached No. 1 on the country charts – tells PEOPLEPets.com.

The two-month tour kicks off in Seattle on Sept. 25, and although being away from home for long stretches of time can be tedious, the single Currington, 36, calls Paco the perfect companion.

“He has been on the road with me since he was six weeks old,” Currington says. “He’s just a good ol’ dog. He keeps me from being lonely out there.”

The singer says his puckish pup loves playing with balls and chewing on plastic bottles in Currington’s trailer. But, although his owner’s latest hit is an ode to imbibing, Paco doesn’t partake himself.

“He doesn’t swallow [from the bottles],” Currington says with a laugh. “He just likes to make noise.”
