Like many teenagers, Two and a Half Men star Angus T. Jones has a handful of prized possessions in his bedroom. The first is a mini recording studio where the 17-year-old actor and his buddies create new music, the second is his Canon camera and the third likely sheds hair on both: It’s his 4-month-old kitten, Mascot.
“[He’s] super-playful but also very sweet,” Jones tells PEOPLE. “He sleeps in my room and he will come to his name. He’s already litter trained. I can leave my door open and he won’t run away.”
Jones would probably agree with the adage that the best things in life don’t cost much at all. “[A friend] found this cat somewhere and it had five kittens and it was in a box,” he says. “and I got it for free.”
Mascot has already learned how to find the spotlight. Jones says, “If you are sitting at the computer, he’ll walk all over your keyboard and get in front of the screen to get your attention!”
Two and A Half Men premieres Sept. 19 at 9pm ET on CBS.
