When he’s playing TV exec Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, Alec Baldwin has no problem being buttoned up. But off screen, the actor would much rather kick back at his beach home in Amagansett, N.Y.
Baldwin swaps suits for straw hats and overalls in the new Labor Day issue of Hamptons magazine, and channels his inner farmer while posing beside poultry.
“I find the older I get, I’m very happy when I get out here. I can use the quiet,” he says of the quaint beach town that is just a few hours from the pulsing heart of New York City.
The actor’s earliest memories of the area are from when he was a kid – they are fuzzy, but not necessarily warm. “I was very young, so I don’t remember much,” he says, “other than being on a boat in Montauk with fish guts everywhere.”
Nowadays, he finds solace by the sea on a regular basis. His perfect summer outing? “Taking my boat to Lazy Point, a quick swim and lunch at the Fish Factory,” Baldwin says.
