Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Meet Cassidy and Colby, two longhaired dachshunds who make great lap warmers.
These siblings were just hours away from euthanasia at a Salinas, Calif., shelter earlier this month when Muttville Senior Dog Rescue of San Francisco saved them – and it was obvious they were extremely grateful.
“They walked in with smiles on their faces,” says the rescue’s executive director Sherri Franklin. “Both are super sweet little boys.”
Cassidy, left, is “slightly more demure and shy,” says Franklin, while Colby is “more outgoing and a little bit more of a bruiser.”
Although they are seniors at about 9 years old, these affectionate brothers don’t act their age. “They like to go walking,” she says. “They’d do great with a family or a senior person that likes to go for walks. Both are very spry and healthy.”
While it would be ideal for these two to be adopted together, it’s not a requirement. They are currently living at different foster homes and are doing just fine, and enjoying meeting new canine friends.
“When they see each other they get really excited,” Franklin says. “Either would be great as a second dog. They’ll happily lay in bed with other dogs.”
If you think Cassidy and Colby are the furry friends you’ve been searching for, contact Muttville via their website. To read more about them, visit their Adopt-a-Pet.com profiles pages, here and here.
