Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Today, meet Sophia, a 3-year-old Pharaoh hound mix who adores people.
According to a bio from the Baltimore Humane Society, this athletic girl is a ball of positive energy. “I have such a fun, bubbly personality that I can make pretty much any situation we are in a fun time!” it reads. “Speaking of bubbly one of my favorite games is popping bubbles that people blow for me!”
A rockstar when it comes to agility and learning commands (Sophia knows sit, down and paw already), this playful and affectionate pooch is a celebrity in her own right: she’s featured in the national art campaign The 66 Dogs Project, a collection of portraits of adoptable dogs painted by artist Jenny D. Williams. And, Sophia has ‘actress’ on her résumé, too: she costarred in MacBeth at the Baltimore Shakespeare Factory and was reportedly a big hit.
Sophia has come such a long way – this beauty was actually found starving and freezing in a garbage dump behind her original owner’s home. If you think she is your dream dog, fill out an application for her on the shelter’s website.
