June is Adopt-A-Shelter Cat month and it’s our mission to help felines everywhere find a place to call home. Today, we’d like you to meet Skippy, a 1-year-old kitty who has had some bad luck finding a family.
The sweet black-and-white cat has been with the Dumpster Cat Rescue of Kirkwood, Del., since he was 4 weeks old. He’s watched each of his brothers find their forever homes, but his time has yet to come.
“Adoptions were extremely slow last year and before we knew it, Skippy was big and we couldn’t find anyone who wanted to adopt an older kitten,” says Gail Agreen, director of the rescue.
And that’s a shame for prospective pet owners out there, because this lap-loving feline has all the qualities of a loyal companion. “He cocks his head when he notices things and likes to lie on his back with his feet curled up and look up at you,” says Agreen. “He will be afraid at first but he is a nice cat who can be affectionate if given the chance.”
If you think Skippy is the pet you’ve been searching for, contact the Dumpster Cat Rescue at (302) 834-2859.
