A few months ago my cat had to wear a cone when he injured his foot. It was one of those clear plastic cones which Velcro around the neck. He hated that thing. The clear plastic had a glare, which I think completely disoriented him, leaving him off balance and making him bump into furniture. He’d hang his head down low and glance at me as if to say, ‘why are you doing this to me?’ A few months later when he was all better, I discovered the All Four Paws Comfy Cone and I really wish I had known about it sooner. It’s made of a patented nylon fabric that bends but does what it’s supposed to do: keep pets from licking places they shouldn’t. It’s lighter than regular cones, so it’s easier for a small animal to wear. And they come in various sizes so you can pick the best fit for your pet. A cone is a cone, and it’s never really a treat for your furry friend, but I’m comforted by the fact that this one is easier for my cat to wear. You can buy the Comfy Cone at specialty retailers listed on the company’s Web site.
