The Roots are bringing some Philadelphia magic to the Big Easy.

The group will perform as openers for the 2017 NBA All-Star game in New Orleans this coming February.

Taking center court at the Smoothie King Center, the Grammy-winning band will celebrate the history of basketball through their performance, which is part of the Entertainment Series presented by JBL.

After The Roots’ set, John Legend will perform a compilation of his biggest hits for the halftime show.

In addition to serving as the house band for The Tonight Show, The Roots are also soon embarking on a special holiday tour in Boston, Washington, D.C., Miami and more.

The 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend kicks off Friday, Feb. 17 with the All-Star Celebrity Game. Catch the NBA All-Star game itself – featuring The Roots’ and Legend’s performances – Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Smoothie King Centre, airing at 8 p.m. on TNT.
