Sinead O’Connor has revealed a recent hospital visit due to liver problems in an emotional Facebook post — but says she’s feeling like different person since finishing rehab and starting hormone replacement therapy.
“F—. Gotta go to emergency. Liver all f—ed and killing me. Can’t breathe properly it so sore. Am posting as am lonely,” O’Connor wrote in a post on Sunday. “Story of my life. Wish was not so alone in world. Gotta be worth something to someone after all these years and after all I given. Am so shocked to be so all alone.”
Last week, the 49-year-old Irish singer revealed in a series of Facebook posts that she had undergone surgery on her liver.
“Still feeling so miserable from surgery. I don’t recommend it Lost awful lot of blood as liver got cut accidentally so am weak as f—,” she wrote in a post on Friday. In a follow-up post on Sunday, O’Connor wrote, “Ouch. Sore as f—. Inside and out.”
Despite the pain from her surgery, O’Connor wrote that — after a tough year — she’s improving in other ways. “I do recommend hormone replacement. Am different person … Irish doctors never recommended it to me all year but I finally got it two weeks ago in US and am me again. Thank you to doctor here in America. And thank you to my surgeon.”
She continued, “What a f—ing year. Been treated so bad it’s a miracle I made it. But I did. And I’m proud I did. And I will always.”
“I was in rehab by the way. For thirty years of being a weed head,” O’Conner explained. “Can proudly state I now have clean piss and will be in a ‘sober living environment’ for the next year. It’s more like a home environment. Only it’s complete with support system. Which is a first for me. Proud of self. Wasn’t easy. 0-18 years in Ireland and then 34 years in music business and the s— that’s gone on for the last year…. it’s a miracle I wasn’t on every drug in sundry.”
Chicago police received a call from police in Ireland, saying that the singer was in Chicago and threatening suicide.
“Sinead O’Connor called and said, ‘I’m on a bridge in Chicago and I’m going to jump,’ “Irish authorities reportedly told Chicago police, asking the department to keep a watchful eye.
In response to the claims, O’Connor took to Facebook, writing: ‘Oh and by the way it’s bulls— I jumped off a bridge.”

This isn’t the first time suicide threats have surrounded the star. Last November, a suicidal Facebook post led many to question O’Connor’s safety. But a source confirmed to PEOPLE then that authorities had safely located the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer.
“I have taken an overdose,” O’Connor wrote. “There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name. If I wasn’t posting this, my kids and family wouldn’t even find out. Was dead for another fortnight since none of them bother their hole with me for a minute. I could have been dead here for weeks already and they’d never have known.”
