Corden, 38, jokingly teased Lopez about her March trip to Miami — where the retired MLB pro lives — and charmingly pressured the star into spilling the details about the new romance.
“He’s the best. You would love him,” Lopez told Corden. “He’s a great guy. He’s fun. He’s awesome. … I am happy.”
A source confirmed to PEOPLE in March that stars “have been dating for a few weeks.” The athlete confirmed their relationship status during an appearance on The View, and the pair most recently made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2017 Met Gala.
“We’re having a great time, she’s an amazing, amazing girl, and one of the smartest human beings I’ve ever met and also an incredible mother,” Rodriguez said.
However, Lopez said they’re just like any other couple, noting that the moment that sparked the romance was nothing extraordinary.

“I actually just tapped him on the shoulder and said, ‘Hi,’ that was it,” she told the host.
As for their first date: “It’s just normal. We just went to dinner.”
The romance reveal came just days after news broke that Rodriguez, 41, and Silicon Valley CEO Anne Wojcicki had called it quits. Meanwhile, sources said that Lopez and former fling Drake “were never that serious.”
