It’s a tale as old as time — so why mess with it?

If you weren’t already convinced that Disney is doing everything to make you feel as nostalgic and sentimental as humanly possible in the months leading up to the release of its Beauty and the Beast remake, then this should do it.

The sharp-eyed sleuths over at Movie Pilot had a bit of déjà vu when they watched the trailer for the upcoming 2017 remake. And after taking in a re-watch of the animated version’s trailer from way back in 1991, they realized: they’re almost exactly the same, frame for frame.

From the lines of dialogue to the characters featured in each second of the trailer, it’s a perfect match. Obviously, it’s intentional — unless the trailer editor’s subconscious is seriously on point.

Whether or not the actual film will be quite as perfect of a match-up remains to be seen, but if you’re a fan of the original, it’s safe to say you’ll probably like this one, too.
