Wilson might play a modern-day dating guru to costar Dakota Johnson in her upcoming film How to Be Single, but after watching this season of The Bachelor, she thinks it’s the ladies chasing after Ben Higgins‘ heart who could learn a thing or two.
“I have some [dating] rules,” Wilson explained while appearing on Good Morning America Wednesday. “Don’t date a guy who is dating other women at the same time.”
She added, “I think the girls of The Bachelor should maybe take on that rule.”
Wilson took the opportunity on Wednesday to offer some of the ladies a few words of wisdom.
First up, Wilson watched a clip of this season’s resident villain, Olivia, complaining about her “cankles” shortly after Higgins revealed a death close to his family. Wilson wasn’t so much concerned with Olivia’s lack of compassion as she was with what the contestant considers to be cankles.
“I don’t think those were cankles,” she said. “They look like sturdy ankles to me, like ‘stankles,’ which is actually a prize trade in Hungarian society.”
But when it comes to dating, Wilson said it all boils down to confidence.
“I think with this lady, she just needs to be confident in her own skin,” she explained. “Because when you’re happy with you, you’re probably going to attract the right partner into your life.”

Next, Wilson watched the dramatic scene where Higgins had to say goodbye to Haley, one of the twins who appeared on this season. The actress took issue with the “occupation” listed under the contestant’s name.
“Okay, I think she needs a better occupation than ‘Twin,’ ” she said. “That would be my No. 1 tip.”
And while the moment when Higgins dumped Hayley in front of her sister and mom was undoubtedly one of the more dramatic twists of the season, Wilson said that situation should have never happened in the first place.
“A good rule to think about is that when it comes to guys, like never compete with your own sister, or your mom, or your grandma,” she explained. “It’s just not cool. Whoever saw the guy first gets dibs on him.”
Wilson’s certainly not short on additional dating tips in How to Be Single, which arrives in theaters Feb. 12.
