Madonna joined the comedian on Tuesday night in New York City, where the singer opened Schumer’s show at Madison Square Garden. And naturally, the two took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse of their rollicking night.
High up the agenda: Getting Madonna atop Schumer’s famous human pyramid.
The comedian, 35, posted a snap of the singer hilariously trying to steady herself as she climbed on top of Schumer and some pals.
“Human pyramid starring @madonna,” Schumer captioned the shot.
Madonna, 58, also posted a pic of herself performing onstage, writing: “So much fun opening up for @amyschumer at Madison Square Garden tonight!! It was short but it was sweet (like me). I’m forever changed! Love you Amy!!”
She later Instagrammed a selfie of the two, as they grinned amid a backdrop of skyscrapers.
“Love and Respect this woman so much!!” Madonna wrote. “Thanks for letting me get on your stage! It was AWESOME!!”
The evening brought things full circle for the duo: Just a year ago, Schumer opened for Madonna during the singer’s Rebel Heart tour – yes, at Madison Square Garden.
The show on Tuesday also turned out to be an eventful night for Schumer, who used it as a chance to address the walkout that happened at her Tampa gig two days earlier, after she blasted Donald Trump during her act.
Onstage at Madison Square Garden, the comedian delivered an open letter to Tampa. “Dearest Tampa, I’m sorry you didn’t want me, a comedian who talks about what she believes in, to mention the biggest thing going on in our country right now,” Schumer said. “How could I think it was okay to spend five minutes having a peaceful conversation with someone with different views?”
She later quipped: “After the show, I want you to know that I will go straight to a rehab facility that will teach me how to make all people happy. Both the rich, entitled, white people who are gonna vote for him and the very poor people — who’ve been tricked into it!”
