The actor kicked off the weekend by visiting DJ Irie’s InspIRIE Kids Golf Clinic during the day on Thursday, where he took time to meet the kids and pose for photos.
“They were so excited and surprised to see and meet Jamie,” a source tells PEOPLE.
“It was super heartwarming when a big star takes time out to motivate these kids.”
Later that night, Foxx jumped on stage at the Shelborne Wyndham Grand South Beach and fired up the crowd as a special guest host for the 12th annual Irie Weekend VIP Kick Off Party.
“He was in such a great mood and so outgoing and friendly, we even asked him to a selfie with us,” a guest at the charity fundraiser tells PEOPLE.
“He was also pouring shots of whisky and tequila into people’s mouths from his position on the stage!”
The fundraising party, part of a four-day DJ Irie charity weekend, was staged around the infinity pool at the restored Art Deco Shelborne. Musician/actor Joey Fatone was also a guest along with many famous athletes.

Foxx, 48, a good friend of DJ Irie, stayed on stage for the two-hour party. He performed “Blame It,” “Unpredictable,” “Slow Jamz” and a portion of “Gold Digger.”
“When Jamie saw Serayah [McNeill], the singer from the TV show Empire in the crowd, he brought her on stage where she performed her single,” a source tells PEOPLE.
“Some local beauties in the audience were also brought up to join the fun!”
