Seven members of the original Harry Potter and the Cursed Child cast are taking a Portkey to Broadway.
The full cast has been revealed for the upcoming Broadway production of the two-part Harry Potter play, with the original trio — Jamie Parker (Harry Potter), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger), and Paul Thornley (Ron Weasley) — all set to reprise their roles in New York. Also returning are Poppy Miller (Ginny Potter), Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), Alex Price (Draco Malfoy), and Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy).
Cursed Child premiered in 2016 in London’s West End, telling the story of the now-adult Harry Potter and his children — specifically his young son Albus. John Tiffany directed the production and Jack Thorne wrote the script, based on an original idea by Tiffany, Thorne, and J.K. Rowling. The West End production won a record nine prizes at the Olivier Awards.
Cursed Child will begin preview performances at the Lyric Theatre in March 2018, with opening night set for April 22, 2018. Tickets will go on sale Oct. 12, 2017, but prospective ticket buyers have to register first online between Oct. 1 and Oct. 5.
