There’s a new Yeti in town.
Channing Tatum stars in the upcoming animated adventure Smallfoot alongside Zendaya, Gina Rodriguez and James Corden — and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look!
The actor, 37, voices Migo the Yeti in the Warner Bros. feature that offers a fresh spin on the mythical big foot creature. Tatum tells PEOPLE that while he made the movie for families to watch together, he also had one special audience member in mind — his 4-year-old daughter Everly!
“I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m super excited for my daughter to see something that I’m in,” the actor says. “Even though I’m never gonna tell her it’s me so she’ll like it. Let’s just say she’s a tough critic.”
The film follows Tatum’s character as he discovers a human — AKA the “smallfoot” — and gains fame in the Yeti community.
“There’s a certain style and tone in Smallfoot that is reminiscent of old-school Looney Tunes, which I was completely in love with as a kid,” Tatum says of the film. “It’s kinda how me and my daughter play. She loves physical comedy, like when I fall over something and act like I hurt myself. She’s a sucker for a good pratfall.”
The trailer for the film will debut on Ellentube at 9amPT/12 pm ET and Tatum will introduce the trailer on the show at 4pm ET.
Smallfoot stomps into theaters Sept. 28, 2018.
