Beyoncé Knowles has something to sing about: Her movie, the thriller Obsessed, topped the weekend box-office chart – far outpacing last weekend’s No. 1 movie, 17 Again starring Zac Efron.

This weekend, the romantic comedy starring the High School Musical heartthrob went head-to-head with Fighting, which stars a very hot Channing Tatum as an underground bare-knuckle pugilist.

With both movies making about $11.5 million each, they tied for the No. 2 spot, the Associated Press reports. Over 10 days, 17 Again has raked in a highly respectable $40 million.

The No. 4 movie was The Soloist, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx. It made $9.7 million.

As for the success of Obsessed, “There’s something about wanting to see Beyoncé kick butt. She’s taking on one wacked chick, played very well by Ali Larter,” the AP quotes Rory Bruer, head of distribution for Sony, as saying. “Let’s face it, everyone loves Beyoncé, and to see her in this role is a treat.”
