The former couple was photographed grabbing lunch together at Sweet Butter Kitchen in Los Angeles on Thursday. The exes chatted as they flipped through a copy of Heard’s GQ cover story.
“They sat next to each other, but were not affectionate,” a source told PEOPLE. “They seemed to have a somber conversation.”
A second source confirmed that the outing was just a friendly get-together and that there are no signs of reconciliation.
“They’re definitely not back together, but have seen each other a couple times as friends,” said the source.
The actress, 31, and tech magnate, 46, called it quits because of increasingly busy schedules, a source told PEOPLE in August. However, they were spotted out together in Australia just days after news of their split broke.
