Hopefully, all crime on the Orient Express is reserved to the movies because Al Roker’s on board!
The Today host joined Josh Gad – one of the stars of the upcoming Murder on the Orient Express remake – for an actual trip on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, which is currently headed from Italy to Paris.
Roker told Today viewers the trip was a “once-in-a-lifetime tour,” and their live broadcast was the first aboard the luxury train in history.
“We’re sitting at a bar, on a moving train going through Italy right now, it doesn’t get better,” Gad said.
It has been a life long dream to take an actual ride on the Orient Express. Today, I am fortunate enough to make that dream a reality. In anticipation of this Fall's #murderontheorientexpress🚊 we are traveling from Venice to France, making stops along the way. Make sure to follow me throughout the day for updates. @vsoetrain #venicesimplonorientexpress
The film – which is a Sir Kenneth Branagh adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic thriller – also stars Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley, Michelle Pfeiffer, Dame Judi Dench, Leslie Odom Jr. and Penelope Cruz.
Both Roker and Gad have been documenting their trip on social media.
“It doesn’t get better than this,” wrote Roker on Twitter.
