South Carolina Man Captures ‘Angel’ Cloud on Video: ‘It’s a Sign Everything Is Going to Be Okay’

Posted on

Cory Hearon still can’t believe his eyes.

Last week, the Camden, South Carolina, father of three was in his car when he looked to his left and saw an angel-like cloud formation that left him awestruck.

“It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” Hearon, 37, tells PEOPLE.

“I was in shock for the first two minutes, and I thought I better get a video of this so there won’t be any question or doubt about what I saw,” he says.

Hearon, who says he watched the cloud for 45 minutes before it started to dissipate, posted a Facebook Live video that has received millions of views.

“Look at this cloud in the sky. Is that not an angel or what?” he says in the video. “This is blowing my mind.”

The four-minute video has since been viewed more than seven million times by people from all over the world.

“I’m absolutely blown away by the reaction,” he says. “I cannot explain the response I’ve received — personal messages, people sharing stories of their life struggles and how the moment they saw the video they thought things are going to be okay. I’ve received messages from France, Brazil, India — all over.”

Hearon, who is a former youth minister and full-time welder, says the special moment couldn’t have come at a better time.

“I’ve been going through a tough time spiritually,” he says. “I had just told my wife I was in need of church. I had to resign from my part-time job as a youth minister because of my schedule as a full-time welder.

“Lately, I’ve been working 60-70 hours a week. This couldn’t have come at a better time and other people seem to agree.”

Hearon has also heard from victims of Hurricane Matthew, who say the video has been a source of inspiration.

“People have told me it’s a sign after the hurricane that everything is going to be okay,” says Hearon, who experienced power outages during the powerful storm.

And the father of three daughters says the video doesn’t even compare to what he saw in real life.

“In person, it was perfect,” he says. “I’m a believer. I’m a Christian. I have seen miracles — there’s miracles in childbirth and everyday miracles. And this blows me away.”
