Best Buy Employees Chip in to Buy Video Game for Teen Who Came in Every Day to Play

The gift of giving!

A group of kind-hearted Best Buy employees in Valley Stream, New York, pooled their paychecks to help make one boy’s holiday season special.

In a special video shared to YouTube, Best Buy associates can be seen giving a surprised teenager a Wii U video game system. According to the clip’s description, the teen was a frequent visitor to the store. He usually spent his time playing the Smash Bros. game on the display console.

“On behalf of all of us at Best Buy, we got you a Wii U so you don’t have to come here every day to play,” an associate can be heard saying in the clip.

In the video’s description, the poster wrote, “The employees in this store saw an opportunity to make a child smile and did just. They chipped in and purchased a Wii U for him with their own money. This is amazing…”

According to Kotaku, the store’s general manager confirmed that employees in the appliances department had purchased the teen the game, as well as a two-year warranty.

In a later comment, the YouTube video poster – who identified himself as another manager at the Best Buy location – said that store employees also drove the teenager home, “where his parents were beyond welcoming.”
