Selena Gomez’s kitchen sounds like a minimalist’s dream — except for the five-foot teddy bear.

“It was a gift, and at first I thought, ‘This is so ridiculous, I can’t wait to give it away to another person,” says the “Wolves” singer in her Billboard ‘Woman of the Year’ interview. Somehow, though, the stuffed guest has remained in her marble-accented cook space, despite a recent Marie Kondo-style clean out.

After a tumultuous few years, Gomez has been ridding her life — and her house — of the nonessentials. “I don’t need a lot of things,” says the star, who recently rekindled her on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber.

Described by Billboard as a one-story cottage lacking the luxe elements — spiraling staircases or palazzo-worthy architecture — of her former Calabasas estate, the outlet reports that Gomez’s modest home is hidden by hedges to ensure the 25-year-old’s privacy.

“I like feeling removed, and I wanted a place where I could be alone,” she explains.

Her new digs also find a middle ground between her previous sprawling property and her humble childhood home in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Describing her family home, she recalls, “There were a lot of Texas accents — a lot of brown and wood paneling in that house — and carpeting in every room except the kitchen. I can picture it all, the way it smells. I miss it a lot.”

Although she describes the house as “very quaint — you could take one loop around the house and it took maybe five seconds,” the humble abode still calls to her when she pays a visit to the Lone Star State.

“My mom was 16 when she had me, so I had a room next to my mom and my grandparents,” she said. “Every time I go back to Texas I drive by it, but I don’t have the courage to go up and knock on the door.”
