HGTV’s Nicole Curtis is a “bada*s.” According to Lenny Kravitz, that is.
In an interview with PEOPLE Now, Curtis, 40, describes the exchange with the rockstar as “my moment,” adding, “I got a hug from Lenny Kravitz, I was very happy.”
And Kravitz isn’t the only celebrity that’s a fan of the Rehab Addict’s work. She also swung a hammer next to LeBron James when the two worked together restoring a home for a family in Ohio. Curtis shares details of the speedily executed project in her new memoir, Better Than New.
“I didn’t have time to deal with anything,” she tells PEOPLE Now. “It was like, ‘LeBron, We gotta go, let’s get this done.’”
The historic house junky got along well with James, citing a sweet interaction with her now 18-year-old son, Ethan, who was just starting high school at the time. “LeBron was so kind and gracious to him,” she says. “As soon as the door flung open, he walked out and was like, ‘Oh my gosh, Ethan, so nice to meet you.’ Really when you see how someone interacts with your children, that, to me, tells you what kind of person they are.”
But their shared time together wasn’t without a few mishaps, with one in particular that could have been an untimely injury for James.
“He popped his shoe, oh gosh,” Curtis recalls. “LeBron was getting ready to make his big comeback to Ohio, and he stepped on a nail.”
All was well for the Cavaliers baller, however, and they completed the project sans-scars. “It was such a great experience,” she says.
