All in the Family
As the oldest child of former republican Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, and a member of the democratic Kennedy family, Katherine Schwarzenegger, 27, knows a few things about successfully blending opposing viewpoints at home. A Fresh Start
"This place is much more mature than any of the previous places I’ve lived," she tells Joss & Main, with whom she's also hosting a curated sale inspired by her home. A functional and inviting home office was a must for the professional writer. "When you work from home, it can get hard if you don’t have structure," she says. "I like to wake up early and either workout with my friends or take my dog on a walk. Then I come home and make coffee and get right to work."

Her creative space also lends itself to a slightly more saturated palette. "The curtains were navy so I wanted to have that color picked up in the pillows and other accent pieces, she says."

Garlough stepped in to implement some designer tricks in the space. "We layered two rugs, a chunky natural-fiber style with a metallic hide on top," she says. Adds, Katherine, "I’m kind of obsessed with that, but I was very unsure of it in the beginning! "
