Inside Scott Clifton's Dreamy Home Makeover
Even celebrities are fans of something. Scott Clifton — better known to The Bold and the Beautiful fans as Liam Spencer — and his wife, Nikki, who recently purchased and renovated a home in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles, are pretty openly obsessed with the online decorating service Homepolish. "Nikki had been stalking the Homepolish Instagram, ever since a friend worked with one of the site's designers," Scott explains. "Soon enough, I was following them too. We'd say things to each other like 'Have you seen the new HP post? I want that lamp.'"

The couple, who welcomed a son in the middle of their redesign, worked with Homepolish decorator Alice Cheng to create a bright and cozy space to suit their growing family. "With Nikki being pregnant during half the process and a brand-new mother the other half, Alice became the unofficial keeper of our sanity," says Scott. Cheng combined Scott's preference for "rustic and woodsy" with Nikki's ever-changing style preferences.

The Clifton's new home has a long, narrow floorplan that required them to purchase almost all new furniture. "We also had a habit of putting too much stuff in too small of an area," says Scott. "Alice taught us how to create a more ‘edited’ space, which was a gift that will keep on giving."

Must-Haves and No-Gos
With four cats and a baby, "there was no shortage of annoying restrictions on the type of furniture and rugs we could incorporate," he says. Cheng managed to stick to the family's guidelines and keep things chic. Even the white Restoration Hardware sofa is kid-safe: It's upholstered in a water resistant, stain-proof fabric.

The Comeback Piece
Nikki wasn't initially sold on the minimalist white dining table. She "took some convincing," Scott says. "And by 'convincing,' I mean her buying a clunky, rectangular, wooden table and hating it enough to appreciate what a cool table we had from the start." Luckily, the modern table was sitting in the garage, "waiting for us to come crawling back to it."

In the moody gray TV room, whose furniture Scott points out has been comandeered by the cats, there's a secret feline-size door leading to the garage. "No more kitty litter in the bathroom!" Scott says.

All in the Family
"Nikki's dad is a custom cabinet maker [Lampson Cabinets], and we always fantasized about having a kitchen with his stamp on it," Scott says of their bright, white cookspace, which features a mix of cabinetry and modern, open shelving.

Fresh and Clean
Dad's work is also seen in the bathroom. "We gutted the house," says Scott. "So we basically moved into a fully furnished, designed, near-embarrassingly pristine home."

A Happy Home
Of the finished space, the couple gushes, "It’s so nice it almost makes us self-conscious. We feel like we’re living in a model home, except better, because everything in it is a reflection of us and our choices."
